A Helping Hand After Hurricanes

In the devastating wake of Hurricanes Harvey, Irma and Maria in the late summer of 2017, residents across affected areas were left without food, water, shelter or power. Organizations and individuals around the world joined in the relief efforts – from emergency responders who worked non-stop to rescue stranded residents to private citizens who donated time and money.

Similarly, TJX was moved to help. We strive to be a good neighbor, and TJX is committed to supporting those in need, especially when disasters like these hurricanes hit in our communities.

“Once again, TJX proves the value it places on every team member.”

Senior Regional Vice President, Marshalls

"Many organizations speak about culture. In the past couple months, I have witnessed the entire organization come together in the aftermath of the recent hurricanes. Once again, TJX proves the value it places on every team member," said Chris Jones, Senior Regional Vice President, Marshalls.

"The recent hurricanes have again highlighted the resilience of the TJX family of Associates. In the face of their own personal loss and damage issues, their focus was on helping their TJX family, as well as the communities where they live and work," said Linda Fiorelli, Senior Regional Vice President, TJ Maxx.

“Through the duration of Hurricane Harvey, the constant communication, endless supplies and resources, and emotional support received from HomeGoods/TJX allowed Associates in Houston to feel reassured we were “Bold & Brave” and in this together,” said Shellie Rodgers, HomeGoods District Manager, Houston, TX.

Between corporate contributions and customer donations, TJX was able to donate approximately $5 million to organizations who were providing hurricane relief support to those people most affected. As a Company, building relationships and caring for one another is a strong part of our history and culture, and we hope our collective efforts helped bring some comfort to those most affected by these devastating storms.
